Jennifer Agee
Hello. I am Jennifer Agee and I will be your child's math teacher this year. Mathematics is an important subject in that it teaches students to think analytically and problem solve. In our world today, those are skills that will be important in any field of study that your student chooses to pursue in college. Our goal in the math department is to prepare your child for college. Our courses are structured according to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards.
My husband, Mike and I celebrated our 34th year of marriage this past summer. We have an empty nest, but enjoy spending time with our three daughters and son in law. Trina and Bob married in June of 2011 and live in St. Louis, MO. They are both teachers. Trina teaches English and Social Studies at the middle school level and Bob teaches 5th grade. Loren lives in Antioch and teaches math at Apollo Middle School. Our youngest daughter, Erinne, lives in Hermitage and is the director of The Professional Salon Academy in Donelson. We have a family full of teachers. My husband Mike was also a math major, taught math for two years and then worked with a road construction company for 26 years. Mike now owns his own business and works as a government solutions consultant. We enjoy traveling, riding motorcycles, and reading.
After graduating from David Lipscomb College with a bachelor's degree in math and attaining a master's degree in math from MTSU, I began teaching at David Lipscomb High School in 1979. I retired in 1983 to raise our daughters and stayed at home with my girls for 13 years. I came out of retirement and taught in Tullahoma City Schools from 1995 to 1998. I also worked as an adjunct in the math department at Lipscomb University, I have come full circle and returned to the high school in 2007. I enjoy working with teenagers and helping them be successful. I look forward to meeting your student this school year.
