Mrs. Kim Woods
Welcome to sixth grade! I am Mrs. Woods, and I teach English (grammar, spelling, vocabulary) and Bible. According to my parents, my passion and desire for teaching were evident at a very early age. As the oldest of four, my siblings were my first students, and a chalkboard was one of my first Christmas gifts :-) I received my BA from Harding University and my MESE from the University of Arkansas. My teaching career began in Arkansas immediately after my college graduation. I taught seven years in both public and private settings before marrying and "retiring" to have a family. In 2000 I returned to the classroom at Lipscomb Academy Middle School. I feel so blessed as I begin my fourteenth year at LAMS. I have been married to my husband, Art Woods, for 28 years. Art joined the Lipscomb Academy staff in March 2012 as the Associate Headmaster for Development. We have three boys and two daughters-in-law. All three of our boys are Lipscomb Academy graduates. Benjamin, our oldest son, graduated from Harding University and works as an accountant in Midland, Texas. He is married to Addie Boone Woods, a Pepperdine University graduate. Jonathan, our middle son, lives in Jackson, Mississippi. He is a Lipscomb University graduate and works as a youth minister at Meadowbrook Church of Christ. He is married to Dannie Russo Woods, also a Lipscomb University graduate. Dannie is the Assistant Director of Student Life at Mississippi College. Alex, our youngest son, is a sophomore at Lipscomb University. We worship at Otter Creek Church.
I look forward to working with you and your children this year. Please know that I welcome your comments, concerns, and questions. Open communication will help me reach my goal which is your child's success.
