Coach Jake House
Welcome. Thank you for visiting my site.
My name is Stefine Jake House. I am one of the high school math teachers here at Lipscomb Academy along with being the head volleyball coach. This is my first year being at this school and I am very blessed to have the opportunity to teach at a school like this. Math is a subject that is very important to students no matter what career path they may choose. My job as a math teacher is to prepare your child for the future, whether it is getting them college ready or career ready; showing students ways to think outside the box to further themselves in the understanding of math outside the classroom. Math is everywhere in college and careers; building a solid foundation of math will allow your student to excel in life. Our goal in the math department is to prepare your child for the future. All of our courses are structured according to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards.
Along with starting my career this year, I also got married this summer to my wonderful husband and best friend Eric House. We got married July 20, 2013 and started our journey together. We enjoy spending time together and supporting each other throughout every aspect of our lives. Eric is from Nashville and attended Goodpasture High School. He played baseball and football there and decided to further his baseball career at Jackson State Community College and then came to Trevecca University to finish his undergraduate degree in Business. He stayed on the baseball staff as a Graduate Assistant to get his master in Business but wanted to continue to follow the career path of a college baseball coach after finishing at Trevecca. Troy University in Troy, Alabama offered him a Volunteer Assistant position, and he was there when we met. After a two years of being at Troy, he got a full time job at East Mississippi Community College. Two years later, he moved back to Nashville and supported my decision to accept the job at Lipscomb Academy as the head volleyball coach and math teacher. He is now working with the baseball program at Belmont University.
A little about myself, I am originally from Kansas. I grew up in a home with an older sister Christie, a younger brother Hunter, and my amazing parents Terry and Terri Pease who have been married for 33 years. My family is very athletic and I have been playing sports all my life; I was recruited by Brandon Rosenthal (the head volleyball coach at Lipscomb University) my junior year of high school and committed the end of my junior year to come to Lipscomb University to play volleyball. I grew up in a home where both of my parents worked to allow me to play volleyball and live a blessed life, so I made a promise to myself to pay them back by not having to pay for my college education. During my volleyball career at Lipscomb University I was able to travel all over the United States playing many of the top teams in Division I athletics but also meeting many people who helped me find who I was. My undergraduate degree is in Fashion Merchandising with a double minor in Business and Interior Design. After graduating, I was asked to stay on staff and take the Graduate Assistant position for the volleyball team. While being dedicated to the volleyball team, I worked at Belk as the Men's Furnishing Merchandiser in the morning and make sure to apply myself 100% in my masters program. After two years as being the Graduate Assistant I was able to get my Masters and License in Secondary Math Education. God always has a plan and He continues to bless me with opportunities such as a teaching position here at Lipscomb Academy and the head volleyball coach for the High School, along with my husband who continues to support me with my life and career.
I have been coaching since my freshman year of college for a travel team in the Nashville area. I try to not only help young ladies become better athletes and better volleyball players, but I work to find every opportunity to teach each individual athlete about life. Life lessons are learned through experience and there is no better time than within a team to learn lessons to take with them the rest of their life. I also try to be the best role model for the girls, someone girls can come talk to about life, hold them accountable for their actions, and also someone to love them for who they are and what they bring to the world.
This school year is going to be a great one and we can continue to see God work in many amazing ways. Please feel free to contact me at any time to ask questions or any needs you or your student may need.
